NEW FOR THE 2018 SPRING SEASON AT WENTWORTH WOODHOSE : SNOWDROP TOURS
For many years the private garden at Wentworth Woodhouse has been unavailable for visitors to explore, but this spring we will be opening the doors to this enchanting space and inviting you to join us for a mile long guided woodland walk. It’s the perfect opportunity for a morning or afternoon stroll in the fresh air and a chance to marvel at the first sightings of spring with drifts of beautiful snowdrops. Warm up after in our cosy tea room which will be serving a selection of drinks and homemade cakes.
Over the past four years each spring, our two gardeners have divided and replanted the indigenous snowdrops here at Wentworth Woodhouse. This is an absolute labour of love, and now with the help of a new team of volunteers, each year a new area of the garden will be populated with these delightful flowers. If only we had the workforce that existed in 1850, a total of 36 gardeners tended the 83 acre garden!
Spaces are limited and must be pre-booked, so book a place online now or call the office on 01226 351161. Don’t forget to wear suitable footwear and clothing as the paths can be a little muddy and walks will go ahead come rain or shine! We look forward to welcoming you.
